Before you begin
Driver updates for Windows 10, along with many devices, such as network adapters, monitors, printers, and video cards, are automatically downloaded and installed through Windows Update. You probably already have the most recent drivers, but if you'd like to manually update or reinstall a driver, here's how:
After an upgrade from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 to Windows 10 is completed, the HP 3D DriveGuard driver is displayed as an unknown device. Device Manager displays an exclamation mark (yellow bang) indicating there is a problem with the driver. Find the device driver using the Hardware ID. Open Device Manager by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard and typing Device Manager, then open the result. You will be presented with a list of devices attached to your system, and you will notice the Unknown Device with a yellow exclamation mark. Once you’ve found the device, right-click. Unknown Devices helps find unknown devices and figure out what they really are. Tips: - Press F3 to search the selected text on the internet. (Ctrl-F3 to search without the '+drivers') - Press F2 or Ctrl-C to copy selected to clipboard - Using an item under Full Details for a websearch will likely give you better results Limitations. In that case, when an unknown USB device with an exclamation point appears in the list of USB Controllers, try the following things: Right-click on the device, select Properties, then click button Roll Back Driver on the Driver tab, if it is available, and if not — Uninstall to remove the driver.
Update the device driver
In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update.
Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
Select Update Driver.
If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.
Reinstall the device driver
Download Unknown Device
In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
Right-click (or press and hold) the name of the device, and select Uninstall.
Restart your PC.
Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
